Job Title: BID Manager
Reporting to: Wickford BID Board of Directors
Hours: 2.5 days per week - 9-5pm – some weekend and evening working will be required | Based in Wickford in working hours

Background

Wickford BID is a defined geographic area in which businesses contribute to a shared levy, enabling delivery of projects and services that enhance the trading environment. The BID works collaboratively with local businesses, Basildon Borough Council, and wider stakeholders.

Job Purpose

To provide operational leadership for Wickford BID, ensuring effective delivery of the BID Business Plan and strong engagement with levy payers and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day management and delivery of Wickford BID
  • Engage levy payers and stakeholders proactively
  • Work closely with the BID Board and provide updates
  • Manage BID projects and services
  • Oversee budgets and financial performance
  • Coordinate with Basildon Borough Council and partners
  • Manage suppliers and contracts
  • Support communications and promotion
  • Identify additional income opportunities
  • Ensure governance and compliance
Person Specification (Essential)
  • Stakeholder engagement experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently reporting to a Board
  • Experience managing projects and budgets
  • Commercial awareness
Person Specification (Desirable)
  • Experience within a BID or town centre environment
  • Knowledge of local government
  • Experience working with small businesses
