Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 dependent on experience
Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week. Some early morning, evening and weekend working required. West Central BIDs retains flexibility around working from home but given the nature of our work, we would not anticipate that exceeding one day per week.

West Central BIDs, which runs two Business Improvement Districts for Knightsbridge and the King’s Road is seeking an individual with both a strong initiative and the ability to take direction. The successful candidate will play an integral role in managing excellent relationships with member businesses across both areas, whilst also supporting on marketing and administrative aspects of the business.

Working with over 450 member businesses across the retail, commercial, office leisure, hospitality and public sectors, the Partnerships were set up to help make a real difference to the business community, by introducing initiatives and much-needed services that would not otherwise exist and to drive investment and awareness of the internationally and domestically renowned destinations. 

At King’s Road Partnership, we aim to build on the world-famous history of the King’s Road, developing its reputation as the home of British creativity and style. We bring its flourishing communities together to ensure the long-term vibrancy of the area, for the benefit of occupiers, property owners and residents. 

The Knightsbridge Partnership is a vehicle to focus resources and efforts on economic recovery and then on long-term growth, as one of only two International Centres in London. Our purpose is to support the commercial and cultural wellbeing of the businesses and organisations we represent. 

The Knightsbridge and King’s Road Partnerships operates under a five-year term upon which is to seek a majority ‘yes’ vote from its membership as part of a renewal ballot.


Job Description

The Business Engagement Executive will: 

Member engagement

  • Conduct visits to member businesses, promoting BID services and identifying opportunities we can add value to their business. 
  • Maintain the BID’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system ensuring that business interactions are logged in a timely manner, member data is up to date and adoption of BID services is recorded. Training will be provided upon appointment.  
  • Develop updated collateral to support engagement with membership. 
  • Play an active role as part of the ballot team, to engage businesses during the election run to secure ‘Yes’ votes in the ballot campaign in 2025/26.  
  • Responsible for managing relationships with a set number of businesses allocated across both Knightsbridge and the King’s Road. 
  • Assist in the delivery of high-quality digital communications with BID members and develop novel methods to ensure continued engagement with BID programming.  
  • Support the Director of Communications on strategies to target specific audiences, i.e. decision makers in local businesses.  

Privilege Card – King’s Road

  • Work collaboratively with Cadogan to promote the Privilege Card scheme for the King’s Road. This is likely to include securing new offers, ensuring existing offers are relevant and seeking ways in which to collect redemption figures and other success metrics. Extends to encouraging businesses who are not already taking advantage of the scheme to sign-up.  
  • Explore opportunities and subsequently manage a similar scheme for Knightsbridge to drive loyalty, repeat business and to provide value to our Knightsbridge members.   

Communications

  • Collate content from member organisations and efficiently communicate what’s on across relevant channels, sharing information with relevant agencies as required.  
  • Utilise the BID’s corporate social media channels ensuring output of regular, high-quality content to engage audience, grow following, and promote the value both BIDs are providing the levy payers.  
  • Support the Director of Communications on the effectiveness of marketing channels and help develop KPIs to monitor success. Track and report website traffic, newsletter open rates, social media engagement and any other relevant metrics. 
  • Draft and upload content to the corporate and consumer websites for both Knightsbridge and the King’s Road.  
  • Assist with the design and production of printed collateral and campaign/project-specific marketing to reach relevant audiences. 
  • Support on other marketing initiatives as required e.g. press releases, writing and publishing news articles for the corporate websites and e-newsletters, partnerships delivery etc.  

Events

  • Liaise with members and external businesses to manage venue hire, guest list, catering, and equipment hire for events and meetings.  
  • Represent both BIDs at its events in a professional manner, always representing the interests of the company and co-ordinate feedback processes. 
  • Work with the team and external stakeholders as required to identify, collate, track and analyse place-based data and produce reports highlighting key information about Knightsbridge and the King’s Road to local stakeholders. 
  • Working with the team to identify ways to increasing member turnout at events, seeking feedback to help ensure our events programme is valued by the membership.  
  • Attend and keep abreast of relevant, local events and activities that can be promoted through BID channels. 

Administration

  • Assist with the taking of accurate minutes at meetings. 
  • Assist with general administrative tasks associated with the running of the BID. 
  • Provide support in gathering information required for Board Papers for each BID.Responsible for managing the inventory of printed collateral and advising on when items need to be reordered across both BIDs. 
  • Accurately tracking business engagement and participation in campaign and communications, enabling both BIDs to showcase levels of support and positive outcomes for businesses.  
  • Working with the wider Partnership team to keep members and partners informed of performance and challenges with regard to the delivery of the member engagement and marketing services.

There is no preference for a candidate to have prior knowledge of Business Improvement Districts, although this would be helpful, but you need be able to demonstrate relevant experience and skills in the following areas.    

Required skills and experience:     

  • Highly proficient in written and spoken English.  
  • Proactive and self-motivated, able to prioritise own workload and work to  deadlines. 
  • Experience of customer relationship management and demonstrating return on investment for customers.  
  • Able to develop positive working relationships with the BIDs members, partners and stakeholders.   
  • Competent communicator with a friendly and professional manner via telephone, email and face-to-face meetings. 
  • Experience of using social media in a professional context as part of a marketing strategy. 
  • Previous experience of organising events.  
  • Able to review data and present key findings using analytical thinking. 
  • Confident user of standard MS Office software packages. 
  • Experience of using digital marketing platforms including Wordpress, Google Analytics and MailChimp. 

Desirable skills/experience 

  • Arabic speaking [not essential] 
  • Experience of working with CRM systems 
  • Experience is using Adobe, Photoshop and InDesign   
  • Experience of working with website content management systems 
  • An understanding of Business Improvement Districts, local and central government and their structures and relationships 
  • Experience in a membership or outward/client-facing role requiring engagement with people of varying levels of seniority.
