Job Function

To provide strategic and operational management for Your Eastbourne BID, engaging with key stakeholders, including levy payers and non-levy payers within the BID area, public authorities, Borough and County Councils, community and charity organisations.  Responsible to the BID Panel for the delivery of the business plan and to manage contract delivery against all Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and budgets.  To identify opportunities for the betterment of the BID area and report these to the Panel.


  • Lead the organisation, internally and externally.
  • Actively seek opportunities to extend the scope of delivery.
  • Build external relationships.
  • Manage the operational team to ensure effective and efficient delivery of the BID’s objectives, as directed by the Panel.
  • Ensure management of office and staff is conducted in accordance with the parent company, Edeal Enterprise Agency, approved management systems and protocols.
  • Liaise with the Parent Company, Edeal, on all matters related to governance.
  • Ensure that the Chair and Panel are briefed on operational activities, (including opportunities and threats) weekly, either by way of face-to-face meetings, telephone calls or e-mails where necessary.
  • Provide updates on all matters of consequence to the Chair (and to the Panel where appropriate).
  • Arrange for, attend and contribute to Panel meetings.
  • Monitor and manage performance of the BID against overall Business Plan and annual action/delivery plans.
  • Manage and/or oversee all projects delivered by the BID ensuring time and budget targets are met.
  • Promote Your Eastbourne BID to stakeholders.
  • Work with the BID’s PR consultants to ensure appropriate messages about the BID’s activities and achievements are delivered.
  • Be the operational point of contact for relevant partners, and work to coordinate the aims of the BID with other appropriate initiatives.
  • Safeguard the financial position of the BID to ensure that performance is in-line with approved budgets and cash flow forecasts.
  • Share monthly management accounts by the 10th of each month with the Panel.
  • Take a lead on the generation of non-core income.
  • Oversee contractual and payment arrangements in respect of appointed contractors and suppliers.
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities for extending the range, benefits and income of the BID.
  • Pursue a strategy of continuous professional development.
