Two Ambassadors - Hemel Hempstead BID

Working to an action plan agreed with the Project Manager, assist the business community of the area to achieve the aims of its BID business plan.

Objective

  • Develop the Distinctive Hemel Hempstead Experience
  • To provide a safe, attractive and appealing experience for visitors and workers in Hemel Hempstead centre to enjoy.

Activities 

Uniformed Ambassadors on the streets to :

  • Help promote the area, to welcome visitors and support events
  • Support businesses in tackling and communicating issues
  • Work with the authorities tackling antisocial behaviour and crime issues

There will be 2 Ambassadors working across the BID area, supporting each other and the rest of the team in delivering these remits.

Report to: BID Manager 


Main Duties and responsibilities

  • To work to an action plan agreed with the BID Project Manager
  • To prepare own daily plan for discussion with the BID Project Manager
  • To attend weekly briefings with the BID Project Manager
  • To work shifts that will be allocated between the earliest of 9 am and latest 6 pm, including Saturdays and some Sundays and Bank Holidays. (Normal working hours will be 8.45 am —5.15 pm)
  • To understand the offer within the Hemel Hempstead BID area to include businesses, events, street infrastructure and partners
  • To engage with businesses in the BID area, to collate contact information and to keep them appraised of BID activities
  • To ensure that when work is undertaken on behalf of a business, there is feedback to the  business of actions and follow-up.
  • To carry out ambassadorial duties on a daily basis, pro-actively engaging with the general public providing help, directions and advice as appropriate
  • To assist in the delivery of events in the BID area and to attend business meetings related to such initiatives at the direction of the BID Project Manager.
  • To assist in the reduction of crime and anti-social behaviour in the BID area and to attend business meetings related to such initiatives at the direction of the BID Project Manager
  • To liaise with key partner agencies where appropriate to assist in the delivery of the above tasks
  • To attend training courses as directed by the BID Project Manager
  • To ensure proper recording of all activity and engagement, using equipment issued for this purpose
  • To ensure adherence to personal responsibilities in the areas of risk management and health and safety
  • To refer any requests by the media for comments or information to the BID Project Manager who will deal with as appropriate.
  • Any other duties which are deemed appropriate to this role by the BID Project Manager
