Hosted alongside Nottingham BID, our Professional Development Day is your opportunity to connect with others in the industry and explore how BIDs and other business communities are working to solve similar problems and develop their areas.

We will be looking at a broad range of topics this year, with a host of speakers from different sectors. Looking at the case for greater collaboration and working together more effectively. There will be lots of time for networking and discussion on other topics throughout the day.

Nottingham BID is one of the largest BIDs in the country with almost 750 members and an annual income of around £1 million per year. At the Professional Development Day, you will hear from key stakeholders on how they have created legacy projects that are at the heart of the community.

The Venue

The Venue

The Dryden Enterprise Centre is a brand new state-of-the-art building at the heart of Nottingham Trent University site, set in the City Centre.

An exciting collaborative space for fellow entrepreneurs and a world-beating university, adjacent to the Dryden Centre and opposite the Bonington Gallery.

The venue is located within Nottingham Trent University’s city campus. The train station is around 15 – 20 minutes’ walk away.

    Alex Flint, Nottingham BID CEO

    Alex joined Nottingham BID in November 2021 as Chief Executive Officer. Reporting to the Board of Directors, Alex is responsible for overseeing the running of Nottingham BID, including the operational stream of delivery and effective partnership working to achieve the BID’s strategic 2021-25 vision for the city: to build a more economically successful city and help make Nottingham the UK's lifestyle city of choice.

    Richard Long, Nottingham BID Business Crime Reduction Partnership

    Business Crime Reduction Manager Richard Lane joined Nottingham BID in October 2022, his background is in Law Enforcement and his current focus is on developing strategic projects aimed to ensure Nottingham is a safe and vibrant city.


    Sylvia Oates, Founder of Six Till Six

    Sylvia is the MD of Six Till Six, a specialist consultancy that works with BIDs, local authorities, government organisations, businesses and other stakeholders to help create safer, more attractive and vibrant places for people to spend their leisure time. The company has written leisure and night time strategies, has undertaken specialist licensing, vulnerability management and other leisure/NTE projects and runs the national Best Bar None accreditation scheme. Sylvia was the CEO of Nottingham Leisure BID from 2009-2014, which had 260 levy payers, all with licences to sell alcohol and/or late night food. She has worked in night time economy management for over 13 years and the leisure/licensed sector for 24 years.

    Sam has been the BID Manager's since Colchester's inception in 2018, as one of Britain's newest City's, Colchester is evolving it's place-making visions to suit the fast changing times faced across the country.
