We are pleased to congratulate Your Pontypridd BID on receiving British BIDs Accreditation.
The team at Your Pontypridd led by James Payne has achieved the industry recognised standard, externally assessed by independent auditors.
Established in 2016 and one of the smallest BIDs by its levy income in the UK, Your Pontypridd is approaching the end of its first term.
Earlier this year, British BIDs announced a partnership with the Welsh Government to undertake its industry recognised Accreditation service for 6 BIDs in Wales and Your Pontypridd is the first under that partnership to receive the award. They join Swansea BID who also has the accreditation award.
Chris Turner, CEO of British BIDs said “I wish to congratulate Your Pontypridd who have demonstrated their commitment to good governance and communications. Their award proves that smaller BIDs are just as able to implement robust systems and procedures that in turn, provide reassurances to their stakeholders. We are really pleased to be working with the Welsh Government to encourage more BIDs to apply for accreditation”.
The accreditation process is rigorous in assessing each element of operations within a BID including an independent evaluation of governance, staff operations, financial management, communications and performance management. BIDs are assessed in line with the National BID Criteria and National Guiding Principles for a BID.
James Payne from Your Pontypridd BID said “We signed up to the BID Accreditation process to allow us to review our procedures ensuring we are accountable to our levy payers. We are delighted to receive the award that gives our Board the confidence that we have the right processes in place. We also appreciate the feedback we have been given which will assist us as we approach our second term. I would like to thank the British BIDs team and the Welsh Government for supporting us in this process and giving us this valuable opportunity”.
The Deputy Minister for Housing and Local Government, Hannah Blythyn said: “The Welsh Government is committed to supporting BIDs across Wales. We recognise that BIDs play a significant role in regenerating areas and our Transforming Towns agenda. BIDs support businesses through a collective voice, particularly important during the recent crisis. We are aware of some of the sterling work they have been doing in assisting businesses with the re-opening process, for example, procuring and providing PPE equipment.
I am really pleased to learn that Your Pontypridd has achieved the accreditation award which is a real endorsement of their work. I look forward to more BIDs in Wales making their accreditation submissions”.
British BIDs have been leading the BID industry for 10 years, with the Accreditation process and award becoming increasingly popular with BIDs.
