British BIDs have announced that Ruth Duston OBE, OC, Managing Director of Primera is the latest expert to join its Advisory Board.
Ruth’s career in regeneration spans more than 30 years, from working with some of the most deprived communities in the country while in local government to shaping major redevelopment schemes across central London.
Ruth has built a reputation as a leading figure in the Business Improvement District (BID) sector, with a track record of developing valuable public / private partnerships. She has established several BIDs and partnerships representing thousands of businesses and employees and multi-million pound investments. Driving value, delivering good growth and enhancing socio-economic outcomes through partnership sit at the heart of Ruth’s approach to urban renewal.
The Primera Group manages a number of BIDs in and around Central London. A further eight of these BIDs (Northbank, Victoria, Victoria Westminster, Cheapside, Bee Midtown, Aldgate Partnership, Hatton Garden and Hampstead) have recently joined as British BIDs members. All will now receive the full membership benefits of the organisation including technical support, access to research, knowledge sharing, industry insight and much more.
Commenting on Ruth’s appointment, Nic Durston, Chair of the Bb Advisory Board and Chief Executive of South Bank Employers’ Group and South Bank BID, said “I am delighted that Ruth has agreed to join us. The British BIDs Advisory Board has been convening regularly throughout the COVID-19 emergency and has played a crucial role in ensuring that British BIDs is focussed on the areas most needed by the industry.
