You can get help through the Government's Gigabit Voucher Scheme that's been set up to provide grants to small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) to get ultrafast broadband through having a full fibre connection.
These grants have a maximum value of £3,000 per SME and can be used with Openreach to bring fibre to the premises (FTTP)* to your business through having a Community Fibre Partnership with us. This is where we bring fibre to any community via a jointly funded approach.
You, and other local businesses, can get a full fibre connection so you can enjoy ultrafast speeds by pooling the Government vouchers to offset costs against having a Community Fibre Partnership.
Businesses with ultrafast broadband love it. A faster internet connection means you can do more and sell more. You can serve customers better and attract new ones more easily. The main benefit of implementing gigabit internet at your business is the vastly faster connectivity speed and increased bandwidth capability the technology provides. Here are some of the benefits FTTP brings:
· Fast data transfer: With a gigabit, you can transfer data over the internet faster than you can write data to a thumb drive. Plus you can download data as fast as many computers can save the data to a hard drive.
· Increased productivity and competitiveness: You won’t be twiddling your thumbs, waiting on unresponsive applications to launch and for files to load, which costs businesses time and money.
· Access and Increased Functionality to the Cloud: You can fully utilise Cloud computing technology with no limits on your ability to access data, plus with an FTTP connection you can upload more, faster.
In fact, a recent report** by Regeneris showed that these benefits and new ways of working could add up to £158m for local business over the next 15 years.
If you use the Government’s vouchers to get FTTP via the Openreach network, you can be confident with broadband reliability as we’re the leading digital network provider. Our network uses the latest technology and is already the UK's largest, so join us to get maximum choice and value for your business.
Please visit communityfibre.openreach.co.uk/gigabit and we'll get in touch about bringing ultrafast broadband to you and other firms in your Business Improvement District. You’ll see an option on the form on the web page to indicate that you represent a BID – or to tell us if your business is in a BID. Selecting this helps us to quickly identify your enquiry, as we’re keen to help you, and nearby businesses, access Government funding to get a full fibre connection.
*FTTP is a pure fibre connection - all the way from the exchange into your home or business. It offers speeds of up to 1Gbps.
