Since England went into its second lockdown almost three months ago (January 5th), we have seen several BIDs achieve a successful ballot. This is such brilliant news for our industry, and each week we put the spotlight on those BIDs and send our congratulations to each and every one of them.
Running a BID ballot brings a lot of pressure at the best of times, let alone in the current climate. We have been talking to BIDs day in and day out on the new challenges and scenarios which have arisen out of the pandemic. The strength of the BID community in sharing this knowledge has been invaluable.
BIDs bring a huge amount of support to our towns and cities and will be vital in the recovery after the pandemic. At the beginning of our lockdowns, there was a degree of uncertainty surrounding the future of BIDs. BIDs have had to work hard to adapt their usual model of delivery, and in doing so, have shown great resilience. It is clear that BIDs remain crucial, and businesses are recognising this even more now than ever before.
In February alone we saw 17 BIDs achieve a majority YES vote and below you can see these results. Many more BIDs are set to go to ballot throughout the year and we will continue to update the industry on these results. Good luck!
