DESIGN YOUR SCHEME READY FOR A SUCCESSFUL RESULT

Many BIDs will enter a new term in 2023 but waiting to until after the ballot to tender might limit Christmas lighting options. Gala Lights will work with BIDs on a no-obligation basis to design a scheme that’s ‘push-button ready’ for a successful result. Plan ahead to get the lights you want – we can’t move Christmas.

Whether you’re looking to refresh an existing display, add wow-factor or find something completely new, start now so there’s plenty of time to design, manufacture and hand-finish your motifs.

It’s only 9 months until the first switch-on!

Gala Lights is a specialist Christmas lighting company, working with BIDs throughout the UK including Harrogate, Newbury, Chelmsford and Richmond.

We design and manufacture 100% of our decorations and can provide everything from tree lights, street decorations and lamp column motifs, through to schemes for Christmas markets, architectural lighting and bespoke 3D centrepieces.

Follow our checklist to ensure your display is a success:

Spring checklist

  • Review the existing Christmas lights
  • Discuss requirements with BID members
  • Prepare and distribute Xmas lighting brief

Key points to consider

  • What worked in last year’s scheme and what needs improving?
  • Can more of the BID area be illuminated?
  • What is the most important KPI?

Summer checklist

  • Conduct supplier site visits
  • Work with a trusted partner to finalise the design
  • Sign-off the scheme details and start manufacturing

Key points to consider

  • Will budget be required for infrastructural updates?
  • There are many types of lights; Across Street Decorations, Lamp Column Motifs, Tree Lights, Uplighters and Gobos
  • Work with a reputable company that other BIDs recommend

Autumn checklist

  • Choose between a switch-on event, or soft switch-on
  • Process local authority licence applications
  • Conduct infrastructural tests and checks

Key points to consider

  • Does the switch-on date work for all parties?
  • Can media coverage be secured for the new display?

Contact Gala Lights today – we will guide you through the process step-by-step.

Gala Lights was founded as a family-run business in 1994. We take pride in delivering quality product, bespoke design and value for money, with friendly service.

In 2009 we joined Leblanc illuminations, and together we provide professional lighting solutions to over 8,000 villages, towns and cities around the world. This partnership gives us the ability to design, build and bring-to-life industry-leading illuminations for BIDS, as well as town centres, retail parks and shopping centres.
