Our Ballot Buddy service offers expert guidance for developing and renewing a BID, and we are pleased to announce the addition of three new BIDs to the Ballot Buddy portfolio. These BIDs are Brighton, Chichester and King's Lynn.
All three BIDs are approaching BID renewal in 2021/2022, and our Ballot Buddy service will offer them support from a dedicated Account Manager and the wider team to ensure that they take the correct steps to maximise their chances of success.
Commenting on the service, Vicky Etheridge, King's Lynn BID Manager said, "investing in Ballot Buddy was a bit of a 'no-brainer' for the Board and I; the offer of an experienced British BIDs staff member to guide us through the renewal process, plus access to a wider team and a network of contacts is really important when you have a small team with limited capacity. Alongside that we get access to a tried and tested set of processes, systems and documents; we now feel much more confident about embarking on the renewal process.”
Jeanette Hockley, Chichester BID Operations Manager added, “we look forward to working with Ballot Buddy to help provide us with all the support, advice and resources needed. We feel the help available to shape a business plan and the documents and training provided will be invaluable for our next ballot process.”
As part of the Ballot Buddy service, we also offer additional support that can be bolted-on through the Ballot Buddy + programme.
Our approach; the ABC of BID development and renewal
As part of our Ballot Buddy service, we have recently introduced the ‘ABC of BID development and renewal’, an updated model, developed by our team of experienced BID practitioners, all of whom have first-hand knowledge of operating BID ballots.
Our ABC approach has been created to help BIDs throughout their ballot process and help to set clear milestones along the way. (A) requires developing or renewing BIDs to ‘Analyse’ the location and its competition; (B) is the ‘Build’ of the proposal; (C) is where the team works to ‘Create’ a compelling ballot campaign.
Once successful at ballot, the new BID Body would follow on to ‘Deliver’ (D) on their manifesto commitments and continuously ‘Evaluate’ (E) their outputs throughout the term.
