Working in partnership, British BIDs, Nottingham BID and the New Economic Foundation have commissioned a detailed report to examine the future recovery of BIDs and town centres, exploring the role of a BID and the BID network in the new normal.
The research will focus on how town and city centres may look and feel as the COVID-19 restrictions lift, what BIDs will look like and may be required to do, and how consumer trends may have been changed, possibly forever, by the weeks of lockdown and social distancing.
At a time where recovery plans are starting to take motion with BIDs across the country, the research study aims to discover new knowledge, and then provide insight and guidance to BIDs and industry stakeholders.
Commenting on the research, CEO of British BIDs, Professor Chris Turner, said: 'British BIDs is pleased to be leading on this report with Nottingham BID and the New Economic Foundation. We will be approaching a cross section of representative BIDs to take part in our study group whose views will be a key part of the project. Our thanks go out to the Nottingham BID who have shown huge enthusiasm for conducting research on tomorrow's consumer trends and to the leading think-tank that is New Economic Foundation for their contribution and expertise in launching this report'.
The report will be published at the end of May 2020.
