West Central BIDs incorporates the Knightsbridge Partnership and King’s Road Partnership Business Improvement Districts (BIDs). These vibrant and globally recognised districts of London have some of the most well-known and sort after global brands and 5 star hotels as members.

Purpose of role:

We’re looking for a driven and self-motivated communications specialist to join our team to:

  • Strategically position Knightsbridge as the International Centre and amplify the King’s Road as a key leisure and tourist destination by working in partnership with member businesses.
  • Oversee marketing and partnership relations including management of member communications.
  • To develop and lead the corporate brand and communication strategy.

Key responsibilities:

  • Reporting directly to the CEO, support the implementation of a communications strategy for the BID’s various audiences, working collaboratively with key public and private sector stakeholders to encourage new visitors and businesses into the area.
  • Manage and work with partners on the delivery of BID event programmes.
  • Help organise the districts’ Marketing Partnership (an informal advisory board) that meets quarterly to plan, co-ordinate and deliver joint campaigns and marketing initiatives across the district. This will require liaison with senior brand and marketing stakeholders across the BID areas.
  • Analyse insights, market trends, demographics, competitors and other relevant information to provide added value to BID audiences.
  • Working closely with a small team of colleagues to forward plan work and ensure a high quality and responsive marketing service, ensuring synergy across all workstreams.
  • Ensure creative excellence across all marketing activity, reinforcing the district place brand and ensuring the brand experience is consistent across all channels, both on and offline, advertisements etc, ensuring brand guidelines are adhered to.
  • Manage monthly content plans - working alongside retained partners to ensure effective communications and engagement through social media, website, email marketing, digital advertising, video and photography etc. on a B2B and B2C level.
  • Manage marketing agency services to ensure high-level impact and delivery.
  • Track, collect and collate data (on and offline) as appropriate and prepare verbal/ written reports, adjusting marketing campaigns and strategies in response to feedback.
  • Follow and implement agreed action plans, meeting deadlines and highlighting issues.
  • Manage the development and production of the BID’s print and online collateral.
  • Communicate with BID members through different platforms (in-person, phone, email, social media) to inform, recruit and confirm participation in promotional and networking events.
  • Manage B2C and B2B event set up, set down and general administration.
  • Source stories, images, offers and key calendar events for programmes.
  • Distribute marketing materials such as event invitations, newsletters and newspapers.
  • Co-ordinate the update of the member database.
  • Collate BID membership materials such as introduction packs and form.

Personal experience and core competencies:

  • 5+ years in a communications role
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • Forward thinker with a proactive approach
  • •Experience in B2B and B2C marketing (social, website, events, newsletters, content generation, PR, SEO) including measuring and reporting on performance and impact
  • Experience using MailChimp and PowerPoint
  • Ideally has experience of working with a coalition of brands such as a trade body or within a Business Improvement District environment where there have been multiple stakeholders and audiences to manage
