Marketing & Communications Manager - Wandsworth Town BID

Location: Wandsworth Town
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (plus annual performance bonus)

To manage the delivery of the marketing and communications plan for the Wandsworth Town Business Improvement District (BID). To support both B2B and B2C marketing campaigns and provide general office support in helping to deliver BID projects.

About the BID:

Wandsworth Town Business Improvement District (BID) is a not-for-profit company set up to represent the needs of local businesses in Wandsworth Town with the aim of improving the area as a place to work, live and visit.

You will be directly involved in the shaping of Wandsworth Town. The BID is constantly looking for innovative ways to improve the town centre. All our projects aim to create a town centre that is safer, greener and more connected. These projects will challenge you, encourage your ideas and broaden your skills and experience.

Key responsibilities:

  • Production and delivery of the marketing and communications plan.
  • All marketing & comms for our 3 major annual events:
    • Old York Road Unplugged, street party/music festival (June).
    • Sports Festival in King Georges Park (August/September).
    • Christmas Festival for the Town Centre (November).
  • Manage content and circulation of bi-monthly newsletters (B2B and B2C).
  • Maintain and develop the BID’s on-line activity, keeping all web sites and social media up to date and reflective of the company’s image and work.
  • Management of our new BID website (set for completion in July 2022).
  • Produce weekly consumer targeted content for social media including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Corporate social media to be scheduled when necessary.
  • Regularly update the online BID database (
  • Manage the development and production of the BID’s print collateral.
  • Communicate with BID members through different platforms (in person, phone, email, social media) to inform, recruit and confirm participation in promotional and networking events.
  • Manage B2C and B2B event set up, set down and general administration.
  • Distribute marketing materials such as event invitations and newspapers.
  • Collate BID membership materials such as introduction packs and forms.
  • Manage effective communications between the BID and its business constituents.
  • Source stories, images, offers and key calendar events for programmes.
  • Manage external agencies, business partners and suppliers.
  • Undertake additional tasks which are commensurate with the role.

Essential Skills

  • At least 4 years marketing experience.
  • Strong IT skills, including knowledge of Mailchimp, MS Word, Forms, Outlook, Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Excellent social media knowledge and skills.
  • Clear communication (both oral and written).
  • Working knowledge of website management, ideally WordPress.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team.
  • Good planning and time management skills.
  • Flexible approach to changing priorities and requirements.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database systems.
  • An informed interest / experience in town centre management.

  • A basic salary of £35,000 - £40,000 (plus annual performance bonus).
