Job Title: Marketing Executive

Reporting to: Marketing and Communications Manager

Salary and benefits: £21k-£25k per annum based on experience. Westfield healthcare, paid voluntary charity days, extra holidays relevant to length of service, your birthday off. Employee health and wellness activities. Cycle to work scheme. Flexible working hours, phone and laptop.

Working hours: 40 hours per week. This role is based in Nottingham city centre on a full-time basis, with flexibility on working hours over 7 days to meet the needs of the city.

It’s in Nottingham – we are an independent, not-for-profit organisation, run on behalf of our city centre business members. Working with our members, and often with our partners Nottingham City Council and Visit Nottinghamshire, we’ve the exciting job of promoting Nottingham city centre as a destination for locals and visitors of all ages to enjoy.

Our mission: to create a thriving, safe, clean and vibrant city centre where people can have an amazing time shopping, eating and drinking, visiting attractions, working and studying – a city centre which they feel inspired to come back to, again and again.

About you:

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated marketing professional with experience of looking after digital and social media platforms on a day-to-day basis, and who can turn their hand to applying our brand to print, team presentations and more. You’ll be a digital native, confident using Instagram, Facebook, X and LInkedIn and someone who can write excellent copy on a wide range of subjects, for a variety of consumer and stakeholder audiences.

Proactive, highly organised and great around people, with the passion and motivation to work to a consistently high standard in a fast-paced and creatively agile environment, you’ll fit right in if you’re committed to doing your absolute best to promote everything that is positive about Nottingham centre.

We’re a small, tight-knit team where everyone has a role to play in our success, so strong team working, collaboration and interpersonal skills are a must – as is the ability to roll up your sleeves to get things done, whilst acting with professionalism and integrity at all times.

Marketing our great city day-to-day and maintaining our brand integrity will be your world – from celebrating the team’s successes to promoting our trusted partners, and businesses of all shapes and sizes across the city centre – to the less glamorous, but equally important promotion of Nottingham as a safe, green, clean and healthy place to live, study, work and play.


Key responsibilities:

  • Commission all non-campaign social media assets and website content inc. graphic design, photography, animation and video ensuring brand integrity is maintained.
  • Develop and oversee a bank of evergreen / seasonal social media assets and content inc. event photography.
  • Create and maintain an annual calendar of social media content inc. content from members, team communications, seasonal themed content and reactive content.
  • Write clear, on-brand social media captions and devise effective call(s) to action as needed.
  • Monitor non-campaign social media conversations and actively encourage engagement.
  • Commission, write, edit and publish all website content.
  • Plan, collate and publish a monthly consumer newsletter.
  • Write a brief monthly report on the performance of all digital channels.
  • Commission internal and external brand touch points, inc. artwork.
  • Create and edit compliant branded presentations for the wider It’s in Nottingham team.
