Background to Primera

Primera, one of the UK’s leading regeneration consultancies, was established in 2004 and since this time has delivered a range of services to the public, private, community and voluntary sectors. Our expertise lies in delivering a range of economic and regeneration projects and programmes through multi-agency partnership working. We develop and lead on regeneration activity that is sustainable and underpinned by coherent funding strategies and long-term objectives and succession planning. 

Our work is primarily located in central London, including in Westminster, Camden and the City of London. We manage a variety of projects from voluntary led partnerships and social regeneration initiatives, through to fully operational Business Improvement Districts. We now seek an experienced Marketing and Events Manager to join our growing team to help build on this success.

While part of the Primera team, this post will have a specific focus as the Marketing and Events Manager with the Central District Alliance [CDA] Business Improvement District based in the CDA Head Office at 52 Bedford Row London WC1R 4LR – there may be times work will need to be carried out across the wider Primera portfolio and at other offices as required.

About the Central District Alliance (CDA)

CDA is one of the most established BIDs in the Primera portfolio. This is a unique opportunity to support the BID Chief Executive and the CDA Board on marketing, social media and delivery of a number of events for the BID. The BID has recently gone through a complete rebrand.

The Central District Alliance BID successfully won a renewal ballot in February 2020 taking it into its 4th term as a BID one of the longest established BIDs in London. Building on this success the BID is looking for an experienced marketeer and communicator to help shape the new term – and take forward the innovation and reputation of the BID.


Key requirements of the role:

An excellent communicator, the Marketing and Events Manager will lead the marketing communications activity for the CDA. This includes being responsible for all messaging across all channels and platforms. You will work to define and drive the brand to the BID membership and wider stakeholders, tailoring messaging and developing marketing campaigns and activity.

 Stakeholders include:

- BID membership

- Central Government and Local Government

- Other businesses and residents

- Think Tanks, other BIDs and other partners as identified


Key skills required

- Ability to deliver tailored messaging to a range of audiences and markets

- Excellent writing skills and a confident public speaker / networker

- A creative thinker able to develop how the BIDs presence and brand recognition can be further developed

- An understanding of BIDs, business and economics

- An understanding of political economic policy

- Ability to adapt messaging across a variety of platforms

- To be politically sensitive in messaging and communications


Main Duties and Responsibilities

- Manage the marketing, social media and events programme

- Design and draft copy for the monthly newsletter

- Ensure consistency in messaging so that the integrity of the brand is maintained and promoted at all times

- Build the brand and BID’s reputation, including writing and editing effective copy to support the CEO and Board

- Develop a stakeholder engagement plan to maximise relationships with BID Members and other organisations as identified

- Monitor and measure effectiveness and traffic across all platforms

- Manage content and drive traffic across all the BID platforms

- Manage the design and concepts for all BID assets, such as annual reports


Qualifications:

- Degree standard preferable or equivalent


Experience:

- A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in Marketing, Communications and Placemaking

- A comprehensive understanding of using social media

- Working in a corporate or business environment


The Marketing and Events Manager will be supported by a Marketing Assistant and will work closely with the Director of Communications and the wider team at Primera Corporation. The Marketing and Events Manager will report directly into the CDA Chief Executive.
