Many thanks for your continued engagement with British BIDs (Bb). As you are no doubt aware we have been reviewing the delivery of our services over the past six months in line with our simple purpose to deliver innovation and quality to the BID industry. We have spoken to many of you about what is required from the organisation moving forward and are therefore pleased to confirm the subscription (formerly membership) services to be provided by Bb in the future: –
Extensive advice and training services valued by many but will also guarantee the continued use of external auditors on ALL accreditations, certificate qualifications and survey work carried out. This ensures the services we provide remain open and transparent. Our website features all of our external auditors and the work they carry out on our behalf.
Information, support and advice – our personal technical advice service offers contact with the Bb team who offer first-hand knowledge and advice on scenarios such as BID development, governance, finance, levy rules, and renewal.
Priority research communications – Bb will continue to produce the Nationwide BID Survey, alongside other partners. (The next edition will be published in November 2016 and is currently being prepared by Chris Turner, Professor and International Ambassador at Winchester University and Executive Director of Winchester BID). November will also see the next publication of the BID Industry Criteria and Guidance, again produced in partnership with major levy paying organisations.
Access to shared learning and peer groups – LinkedIn access to the Bb network group, giving you an exclusive community with which to discuss BID related issues and topics of interest.
BID Industry Insight – Our regular and extended Ballot Watch service provides crucial information on the overall BID industry in terms of current and historic ballots, results and business plans.
Access to the Head Office voter contact list.
The BID Academy – this offers a wide variety of training opportunities to the industry – bespoke courses, scheduled training around BID marketing, development and renewal, the Certificate in BID Management and Bb Accreditation.
Subscribers (formerly members) will also benefit from a minimum discount of 25% off all products and services provided by Bb. In addition, they will receive 24/7 advice and guidance from the BID team when required.
Publicity – supply us a blog and we will promote news, views, projects and activities that your BID is involved in across our multi-channel network, with the exclusive opportunity to add your featured content on to the Bb homepage for a week.
Bb will also provide free BID related information to the wider industry via our website, e-comms and social media.
Bb will, therefore, be differentiated from the ATCM which provides membership to all those within the town and city management industry including Business Improvement Districts and has done so for twenty-five years. We are delighted to be supporting the ATCM on a conference next year for BIDs where further details of this will be announced in due course.
Our aim will be to work with the ATCM and others to provide products and services on BID specific matters. BIDs may wish to also join the ATCM whose strengths are representation and policy matters because of their broader town and city management footprint. They also offer a range of member benefits.
